The GRIMACE sonic boom research project required an airborne
flight data recorder capable of acquiring data from devices connected to the
aircraft's MIL-STD 1553 bus. Riptide Realtime developed the Linux-based
software package for this turnkey flight recorder, which recorded data and
displayed results to the pilot in real time. Riptide also provided
on-site installation and technical support at NASA's Dryden Research Center at
Edwards Air Force Base in California.
